It’s important to understand that seeking counselling is not a sign of weakness, but rather an act of strength and self-awareness. So, when do you need to reach out for counselling?

You need counselling If you find yourself struggling with overwhelming emotions such as anxiety, depression, or anger that interfere with your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed are indicators that professional guidance could benefit you.

Secondly, if you are experiencing relationship difficulties, whether it’s with your partner, family members, or friends, counselling can provide a safe space to explore and improve communication, resolve conflicts, and rebuild connections.

Additionally, significant life events or transitions, such as the loss of a loved one, divorce, career changes, or relocation, can trigger emotional distress. Seeking counselling during these times can help you navigate the challenges, gain clarity, and find new strategies for coping and adapting.

Moreover, if you find yourself engaging in harmful behaviours, such as substance abuse, self-harm, or compulsive behaviours, counselling can provide you with the necessary support and tools to overcome these destructive patterns.

Ultimately, trust your intuition. If you have a gut feeling that something isn’t right or that you could benefit from professional guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out for counselling. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help. A qualified therapist can offer a non-judgmental space for self-reflection, growth, and healing. Your mental health and overall well-being deserve the attention and care that counselling can provide.

On days when you can’t go to therapy, remember… https://www.haseebunissa.com/2023/07/01/therapy/ https://www.haseebunissa.com/2023/07/01/therapy/#comments Sat, 01 Jul 2023 08:46:46 +0000 http://www.haseebunissa.com/?p=1 On days when you can’t go to therapy, remember that you still have the power within you to navigate life’s challenges. While therapy offers valuable guidance and support, there are moments when circumstances may prevent you from attending your sessions. In those times, it’s important to remind yourself of a few key things.

Firstly, remember that you are resilient. You have overcome obstacles in the past and have the strength to face the present. Trust in your ability to handle difficult emotions and situations. Take a deep breath and believe in your inner resources.

Secondly, practice self-care. Engage in activities that bring you joy, peace, and comfort. It could be reading a Qur’an, going for a walk in nature, journaling or even reading a book. Prioritize your well-being and engage in practices that nourish your mind, body, and soul.

Lastly, remind yourself that therapy is a journey, and missing a session doesn’t mean your progress is hindered. It’s an opportunity to practice the skills you have learned and to apply the insights gained from previous sessions.

On days when therapy is not an option, keep in mind that you are strong, competent, and surrounded by people who care about you. Accept self-care, make connections with others, and have faith in your own inner fortitude. You have the capacity to navigate it with grace and resiliency. Every day is an opportunity for development and self-discovery.
