On days when you can’t go to therapy, remember that you still have the power within you to navigate life’s challenges. While therapy offers valuable guidance and support, there are moments when circumstances may prevent you from attending your sessions. In those times, it’s important to remind yourself of a few key things.
Firstly, remember that you are resilient. You have overcome obstacles in the past and have the strength to face the present. Trust in your ability to handle difficult emotions and situations. Take a deep breath and believe in your inner resources.
Secondly, practice self-care. Engage in activities that bring you joy, peace, and comfort. It could be reading a Qur’an, going for a walk in nature, journaling or even reading a book. Prioritize your well-being and engage in practices that nourish your mind, body, and soul.
Lastly, remind yourself that therapy is a journey, and missing a session doesn’t mean your progress is hindered. It’s an opportunity to practice the skills you have learned and to apply the insights gained from previous sessions.
On days when therapy is not an option, keep in mind that you are strong, competent, and surrounded by people who care about you. Accept self-care, make connections with others, and have faith in your own inner fortitude. You have the capacity to navigate it with grace and resiliency. Every day is an opportunity for development and self-discovery.
